Ironwood's Water Passed the Bacterial Tests
IRONWOOD, MI - Monday, January 12, 2009 - This afternoon, the City of Ironwood received indication that the water samples from the City of Ironwood have passed the required bacterial tests (BAC T tests). The water is now safe to drink and the boil advisory has been lifted. The Gogebic County Emergency for the City of Ironwood has ended. The Emergency Operations Center at the Ironwood Public Safety Department has closed. All areas on the City of Ironwood water system now have running water and all hydrants have been flushed. If you are experiencing dirty water or low pressure, it is recommended to let you water run until it is clear and you obtain pressure. If the condition does not improve, contact the Ironwood Public Safety Department or the Ironwood Memorial Building at 906-932-5050 during regular business hours. Gogebic County and the City of Ironwood would like to thank all the residents for their patience and all of the volunteers, businesses and local municipalities for their assistance during this time.
