IVFD Chief Tervonen Elected President of the UPVFA

FLORENCE, WI - Thursday, July 23, 2009 - The Chronicle has just received notice that the Ironwood Volunteer Fire Department's new Chief Bob Tervonen was elected President of the Upper Peninsula Volunteer Firefighters Association at their 115th Annual Meeting in Florence, Wisconsin.

Tervonen is the Utilities Manager for the City of Ironwood. The Chronicle would like to congratulate Tervonen on becoming President. The City of Ironwood is blessed with two excellent fire departments -- the Ironwood Volunteers and the Ironwood Public Safety Department cross-trained full-time officers.
