Brite Spot 2 Is Undergoing Remodeling / Expansion
HURLEY, WI - Saturday, June 06, 2009 - The Brite Spot 2 on the corner of Silver Street and US51 in Hurley is getting a makeover and it is expanding. The exterior facades are being updated and additional space is being added to the back of the building. The expansion will allow for better seating for sub and snack counter, and it will allow the store to add another aisle for more food products. What started out as a relatively small liquor store on Poplar Street is quickly growing into a major enterprise. In addition to the usual fare one would find in a liquor store, the Brite Spot features a wide variety of food and convenience items. The building was originally built to house Erspamer's Supermarket. In order to build the structure several landmark Hurley taverns had to be razed. For most of it's existence, the building has been a grocery store. To say it is no longer a grocery store would not be accurate. The selection of food products the store carries is certainly respectable, and it could hold its own going head-to-head against many supermarkets.
