New Meat Market Opens In Downtown Ironwood

IRONWOOD, MI - Friday, June 05, 2009 - Old World Meats, LLC, officially opened for business this morning. The new store specializes in fresh cut top quality meats, however, they feature a selection of frozen foods, cold cuts, cheeses, spices, condiments, milk, ice cream, and ice.

The crew at Old World consists of Matt Weber; his son Matthew; his daughter Ashley; his father Dave; Don Moore; and Mark Raivio. They will gladly prepare any of their products to you specifications. Currently their meat counter is jam-packed with beef Rib-eyes, Porterhouse, T-Bones, ground beef, ground chuck, pork chops, country style spare ribs, a variety of sausages, hot dogs, and even bison, however they will so have chickens, and other kinds of meat.

The store will be open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Saturday. They will soon accept the Bridge card. At the moment the will accept checks, cash, or credit & debit cards.

Old World Meats is located in the Last Tangles Plaza on Douglas Boulevard, where Fitness Xpress used to be loacted.

The Chronicle welcomes Old World Meats to Downtown Ironwood, and we truly wish them much success. This new store will truly be a big attraction for the Downtown Business District.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I forgot to mention the reason there is a photo of the counter in our coverage. The counter is handmade by Matt Weber. It's made out of birdseye maple and it is quite unique.
