Downstate Tournament Loss Doesn't Dampen Girls Hockey Team Spirit
Even though they give a great effort, the Polar Bear Girls lost on Saturday morning to a very powerful and talented AAA select team. "Our girls played hard but could not match up with the team from Livonia." U-19 Girls coach Stacy Ludtke told the Chronicle, "On Saturday evening the girls played another AAA team from West Kent. We fell behind 7 to 1 in the first period. In the second period we managed to rally back, scoring four goals to make the score 7 to 5. The West Kent team was too much for us adding three more goals for a final of 10 to 5." Ludtke continued, "The entire U-19 team and parents would like to thank our sponsors -- Super One Foods and Dr. Franz Aukee -- the Chronicle and the many people who made this past weekend possible. We will always remember the time we had at the State Tournament." For more information on the Polar Bear Hockey Program visit www.polarbearhockey.org. |
