Illinois Resident Busted by Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team

IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, May 05, 2009 - A two month long investigation by the GOGEBIC IRON AREA NARCOTICS TEAM (GIANT) has resulted in the arrest of a 25 year old Illinois resident.

Members of the drug team executed a search warrant on a vehicle driven by the suspect as it returned to Ironwood from Chicago on Wednesday, May 04, 2009. Officers seized a large amount of cocaine, schedule 3 prescription pills and marijuana. The search warrant was authorized by Gogebic County Prosecutor Richard Adams.

The suspect was lodged in the Gogebic County Jail on a charge of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. Additional charges for the schedule 3 narcotics are expected. The suspect is currently on parole in the state of Illinois for previous drug convictions.
