Community Honors Area Heros

IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, May 26, 2009 - Area citizens gathered yesterday to show their respect for those brave Americans who have given their lives for this country. Opening ceremonies began at the Ironwood Memorial Building at 9:00 AM. Once the opening ceremonies were completed, a parade began on McLeod Avenue, outside of the Memorial Building. It continued down Suffolk Street and on to Ayer Street in front of the post office, and then down Lowell Street on to the Riverside Cemetery.

The ceremonies were covered live on WJMS Radio. Joe Rimkus was on-hand broadcasting. Annette Manwell, photojournalist from the Daily Globe was also on hand, as was Lou Bonagura from IronwoodInfo.com.
