Area Firefighters Quickly Respond to Two Vehicle Fires Last Night IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, November 17, 2009 - Local firefighters responded to two vehicle fires yesterday. The first call was received, according to IPSD reports, at 4:57 PM reporting that a large wood chipper/shredder was on fire at 121 Mill Street. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 5:02 PM. The fire was immediately extinguished. On the scene were on-duty IPSD officer Brandon Snyder; off-duty IPSD officers Leiphart, Rimkus, Chiapuzio, Sterbenz, and Colassaco; and Ironwood Volunteers Brentar, Coron, Jacobson, Piete, Brentar, and Ellsworth.
The second call was received at 6:59 PM. Firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of South Davis Road and Bergslein Road where a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero 4-door was on fire. Firefighters were on the scene by 7:09 PM. On the scene were on-duty IPSD officers Chiapuzio and Colassaco; off-duty IPSD officers Leiphart, Clemens, Rimkus, Snyder, and Sterbenz; and IVFD firefighters Brentar, B., Brentar, Z., Clemens, Jacobson, Piete, Ellsworth, and Reller. Both fires are under investigation. |
