State Farm to Co-sponsor Car Seat Safety Check Saturday

IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, September 10, 2009 - Ironwood State Farm Insurance Agent Pam Kauppila announced today that the 2nd Annual State Farm Child Safety Day will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 (this Saturday), from 10 AM to 2:00 PM CDT, at the Pam Kauppila State Farm Office, 629 West Cloverland Drive, in Ironwood, Michigan.

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will check your child’s car seat for proper fit and installation, defects and recalls.

"I've been happy to provide this to my fellow neighbors in Gogebic County." Kauppila said, "I have volunteered my time previously in Marquette. I know we have saved lives! I can't stress enough how every parent needs to take the time to have their car seats checked. So many of them are not installed correctly!"

It is estimated that 85% of all car seats are improperly installed.

Parents, grandparents and caregivers who regularly transport children age 12 and under are urged to take advantage of this Car Seat Safety Check.
