Indianhead Honored with Third National Marketing Award

LAKEWOOD, COLORADO - from Ski Area Management Magazine -  Wednesday, April 21, 2010 —Indianhead, Ragged, Jay Peak, Crested Butte, and Copper have won the 2009/10 Marketing Awards presented by the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA). The 2009/10 Guest Service Awards winners are MacIntyre, Thunder Ridge, Sugar Bowl, Crested Butte, and Beaver Creek.

The awards are presented annually to ski resorts nationwide, both large and small, for programs that help grow the sports of skiing and snowboarding. This year's categories recognized the Best Overall Marketing Program and the Best Overall Guest Service Program in four resort categories based on resort skier and rider visitation. The full list:

Best Overall Marketing Program
Up to 100,000 visits (tie): Indianhead Mountain, Michigan & Ragged Mountain, New Hampshire
100,000 - 250,000 skier visits: Jay Peak Resort, Vermont
250,000 - 500,000 skier visits: Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colorado
500,000 or more skier visits: Copper, Colorado

Best Overall Guest Service Program
Up to 100,000 visits (tie): MacIntyre Ski Area, New Hampshire; Thunder Ridge Ski Area, New York
100,000 - 250,000 skier visits: Sugar Bowl Resort, California
250,000 - 500,000 skier visits: Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colorado
500,000 or more skier visits: Beaver Creek Resort, Colorado

The awards were sponsored by Virginia Beach-based marketing firm BCF, and SportsInsurance.com. Judges included Christine Donovan, event director, BEWI Productions Inc.; Dan Price, president of marketing firm Adrenalin; and Andy Hawk, marketing director, PSIA/AASI. Awards will be presented May 3 at NSAA's National Convention and Tradeshow in Orlando, Florida.
