Polar Bear Squirts Selected to Play with AAA Ice Hawks

IRONWOOD, MI - Monday, April 12, 2010 - Ironwood Polar Bear Squirt teammates Ross Peterson of Hurley (left) and Gavin Mattson of Wakefield (right) have been selected to play AAA hockey for the Peninsula Ice Hawks.

Peterson and Mattson along with twelve other select players from Ontonagon, Keweenaw Bay, Negaunee, Newberry, Engadine, Crystal Falls, Iron River and Eagle River make up the Iron River based team.

Accustomed to playing against each other during the winter hockey season, these young men have now combined their skills to take on the best of the best in their age group.

During the 2010 AAA season the Ice Hawks will compete in tournaments in Green Bay, Tomah, Sparta, Minocqua, Duluth and Minneapolis against some of the most accomplished players in the Midwest.
