Superior Chronicle Sold - Operations to Resume Shortly

IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, April 20, 2010 - It was announced today that the Superior Chronicle has been sold and that it will resume full operations in the very near future.

Owner/Publisher of the online news service, Jim Albert, made the following statement: "I am pleased to announce that an offer has been made by the purchaser and the offer was accepted on Monday afternoon. The sale is expected to be finalized today. The new owners have extensive experience is sales and writing. After meeting with them for several hours, I feel confident that they will continue to provide the same kind of honest, fair and factual reporting the Chronicle readers have come to expect. The new owners plan on expanding news coverage to include more regional news -- Hurley, Bessemer, Wakefield, Mercer, Bergland, Gogebic and Iron Counties -- and local sports. The service will continue to be free to the readers, and will continue to be supported through ad revenues."

According to Albert, the new owners are from the Chicago area and they have recently moved to Ironwood.
