HANCOCK, MI - Wednesday, August 25, 2010 -  The Michigan AFSCME Council 25 today endorsed Mike Lahti for the 38th District state Senate seat, which represents 13 of 15 counties in the Upper Peninsula.

“Mike Lahti has the work ethic, experience and commitment to working families that Upper Peninsula residents need in the state Senate, and that’s why AFSCME is proud to support him,” said Albert Garrett, president of Michigan AFSCME Council 25.

“I am honored to have the support of the hardworking men and women of AFSCME,” Lahti said. “As a state senator, I will fight to keep jobs here in the Upper Peninsula and throughout Michigan, while promoting new industries that will help us grow jobs. I will fight to ensure that the Upper Peninsula gets it fair share from Lansing so we can attract jobs and opportunities.”
