Green Bay Packer Greats to Make Appearance at UP State Fair
ESCANABA, MI — Thursday, August 12, 2010 - Two of Vince Lombardi's great Green Bay Packer players will attend this year's Upper Peninsula State Fair. Former All-Pro linebacker Dave Robinson and the newest member of the Packers Hall of Fame, tight end Marv Fleming will be in attendance Wednesday August 18th and Thursday, August 19th. Dave Robinson was a three time All-Pro, member of the NFL 1960's All-Decade team and both the college and Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. Robinson played for Green Bay from 1863-'72. Of the great honors he compiled and one of the most cherished came from NFL Films when the linebacking trio of Robinson, Ray Nitschke and Lee Roy Caffey was selected as the sixth greatest group in league history. Marv Fleming joined the Packers with Robinson and 1963 and developed into a tremendous blocked for Lombardi's offense. Both Marv and Dave played on the unpresedented three consecutive championship teams of 1965,'66 and '67. Fleming later played for the Miami Dolphins where he became the first man to play in five Super Bowls, including the undefeated 1972 Miami squad. The two Packer greats will be at the UP State Fair from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday and 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Thursday. Dave and Marv will have copies of Robinson's new book, THE LOMBARDI LEGACY, pictures and other items available for purchase.
