Big Top to Perform Laurel Canyon 1970 in Ironwood

IRONWOOD, MI - Friday, December 10, 2010 - On Thursday, December 30 critically acclaimed folk singers and musicians from Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua along with guest artist Corey Carlson will present Laurel Canyon 1970: The Music of the Eagles and Crosby, Stills and Nash at the historic Ironwood Theatre in Ironwood, Michigan.

Like Paris in the ‘20s, Laurel Canyon was a creative scene made up of artists raising the bar for each other’s work and creating a kind of musical family. The accounts are legendary: the formation of Crosby, Stills, and Nash at Joni Mitchell’s house...how neighbors Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne co-created The Eagles’ break-out hit “Take It Easy”... And ultimately how drugs and jealousy and free love ruined it all, but not before some of the most enduring music of all time had been created. Join our own Blue Canvas Orchestra and Singers as they put their unique stamp on some of the most beloved songs of an era by two of their favorite groups who were birthed in the Laurel Canyon musical incubator.

Program includes Suite for Judy Blue Eyes, Teach Your Children Well, Southern Man, Love the One You’re With, Peaceful Easy Feelin’, Take It Easy, Desperado, Already Gone, Life in the Fast Lane & more!

Tickets for the 7:00 pm show are $20 Main Floor Reserved; $15 Main Floor General; $20 Balcony Reserved; $10 Balcony General; $5 Student. Info online at www.ironwoodtheatre.net or call 906/932-0618
