Friends of the MMHP's December Meeting & Updates

IRONWOOD, MI - by Monie Shackleford - Tuesday, December 14, 2010 - The float for the Friends of Miners Memorial Heritage Park received 2nd place at the Jack Frost Parade! Congratulations to the parade crew led by Anne Lawrence! The work put into constructing a little turn-of-the-century mining home was incredible! They built a wall of the home with a roof. The cozy home had a window with curtains, a Christmas tree in the corner, and a hand-built pot bellied stove with Christmas lights flickering inside! Six kids sat on the float among antique toys, while miners handed out candy. Thanks to everyone who participated in the effort!
