GCC Appoints Full-Time Automotive Technology Instructor
IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI - Wednesday, December 22, 2010 - The Gogebic Community College Board of Trustees met in regular session last night. In a brief agenda, the Board approved the appointment of a new full-time Automotive Technology Instructor. Edward Gorman, currently of Dumas, Arizona, was recommended to the Board based on his credentials, previous teaching, and related professional work experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational and Technical Education from Ferris State University, and an Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology from Muskegon Community College in Big Rapids. He has seven years of teaching experience and 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. In other action, the on- and off-campus adjunct faculty for the Spring 2010 semester was approved. Also, the Board approved a contract with GCC Career and Placement Counselor Mark Wendt to provide services to the Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District to Tech Prep high school students for career exploration. President Jim Lorenson reported that the fall semester was completed last Friday and offices will be closed from December 24 through January 3. Also, Mt. Zion opened for the season last weekend.
