Grand Opening of Cemetery Trails
IRONWOOD, MI - by Keri Singleton - Monday, February 1, 2010 - There is something beautiful about being in the woods in the middle of winter. The grand opening of the Ironwood Cemetery Trails was met with extremely acceptable weather, and a great crowd. Beginning at the Visitor’s Center, Ironwood, Michigan, the trail loop took us through the beautiful pristine woods, past the frozen Montreal River in Hurley, Wisconsin, to loop back around past the Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, Michigan. Please enjoy the pictures, and get out there soon to enjoy these trails!!! Thanks to the Parks and Recreation Committee of Ironwood for making this happen, and sponsoring the event. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard. Thanks to Hobby Wheel for donating hot chocolate and apple cider. A big thanks to Gogebic County 4-H, who was wonderful to donate the snowshoes for free rental. Day Dream Donuts donated the wonderful donuts. Hurley Coffee Company graciously donated the One Point Muffins. It was a wonderful show of the community coming together, on both sides of the border, and people of all ages showed up to enjoy this winter sport.
