William Lucius Appointed to Two Key MML Committees ANN ARBOR, MI - Wednesday, February 24, 2010 - Ironwood City Commissioner Will Lucius has been appointed for a 2-year term to the Legislative Governance Committee, as well as a 1-year term to the Energy and Technology Committee, both of the Michigan Municipal League (MML) for which the City of Ironwood is a member. These appointments were made on February 12, 2010 by Michigan Municipal League President Jeff Jenks.
The Michigan Municipal League is the premier advocacy organization for numerous Michigan municipalities. The League is the direct contact between the municipalities and state and federal representatives, informing the representatives of the needs, interests, and concerns of villages, townships, cities, and counties throughout Michigan. Membership to the Legislative Governance Committee, for which Will Lucius has been appointed, offers an opportunity for Will to contribute directly to the well being of local government and review issues of importance to all Michigan communities. Further, through this committee he will be responsible for determining the League's legislative agenda, as well as discussing greater public policy initiatives for the League to consider. Additionally, Will's membership to the Energy and Technology Committee will allow him to consider new legislative ideas as it relates to energy and technology, as well as formulate the League's position on energy and technology related legislation as it is introduced. By these memberships, Will will be able to work with numerous other city and state officials throughout Michigan, and provide a voice for Ironwood in the legislative process. |
