DIDA to Consider Removing Smith-Furgason From Authority

IRONWOOD, MI - Friday, January 22, 2010 - The regular monthly meeting of the DIDA, will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010, beginning at 8:00 AM, in the Women’s Club Room, on the second floor of the Municipal Memorial Building, Ironwood, Michigan.

Agenda items to be discussed at Thrusday's meeting include: (1) Call to Order; (2) Recording of the Roll; (3) Consider approval of the December 3, 2009 Joint Workshop/Re-Scheduled Meeting minutes; (4) Approval of the Docket;  (5) Citizens wishing to address the Authority on Agenda Items (3 Minute Limit); (6) Election of Officers: Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. (6a) Goals and Objectives; (7) Update on Community Development Block Grant Pre-Application;  (8) Update on Downtown Brochure; (9) Consider requesting staff (or hire out) to research how much property the DIDA owns; (10) Discuss DIDA’s Statutory Authority; (11) Consider action on removing a member from the Authority; (12) Citizens wishing to address the Authority on items not on the Agenda (3 Minute Limit); (13) Other Business; and (14) Adjournment.

At a joint meeting with the Ironwood City Commission, DIDA Chairman George Goerig announced that he would like to have DIDA Member Eva Smith-Furgason removed from the Authority for "insubordination."
