Colder Weather Needed for Safer Ice Fishing

LAKE SUPERIOR, WI - Friday, January 15, 2010 - Prior to our recent "heat wave," lake ice was starting to form at Saxon Harbor and Omans. Once the temperatures drop again it  should be set up safe enough to allow the ice fishermen to get out. Note the erosion at Omans and the lake rocks and drift wood pushed up into the parking lot from wave action. This significant erosion will need to be addressed as it is creating a dangerous situation.
