Polar Bears Advance to U.P. Districts

IRONWOOD, MI - Wednesday, January 20, 2010 - The Polar Bears advanced this past Sunday to the U.P. Districts in Manistique along with Iron River, Onotnagon, Keewanah Bay.

Scoring goals for the Polar Bears were Warner Young (4), Tyler Morrison, Caleb Baxter, Gavin Mattson each with 3 goals, Ethan Roehm and Travis Collins with his first goal of the year each with 1.

Assists were tallied by Baxter (3),Ross Peterson and Young with 2 each, and Morrison, Mattson, and Nathan Garnell with one each. Matthew Clemens stopped some key breakaways to help the talented Polar Bears advance to the U.P. Districts.

"I am so excited for the players to get a chance to play for a U.P. Championship. Every player this weekend contributed and is an asset to this team." Said coach Scott Kellett. The Districts will be held February 12-14th.
