Polar Bears Win Lakeland "A" Squirt Jamboree

IRONWOOD, MI - Sunday, January 31, 2010 - The Polar Bears had the first game of the day with Lakeland and won 5-2 despite -15 below temperatures. The Polar Bears tied Price Ice 2-2, and defeated Plover 4-1 to take first place in the Lakeland Jamboree.

The scoring was highlighted by Tyler Morrison with 4 goals and 3 assists; Warner Young with 3 goals and 1 assist; CJ Sorensen with 1 goal and 3 assists; Caleb Baxter with 2 goals; Nathan Garnell had 1 goal; and Ethan Roehm, Travis Collins, Ross Peterson, Gavin Mattson, Cade Mazzon each had an assist. Matthew Clemens had 52 saves on 57 shots and was in net for all 3 games. Solid defensive play was given by Mitch Hissa and Brett Heil.

"It was very cold today and the kids played tough. They are playing very well right now and we are ready for the districts in 2 weeks." said coach Scott Kellett.
