Jessica Ortman Wins RPS Double Elimination Tournament Without a Single Loss

IRONWOOD, MI - Friday, January 22, 2010 - Jessica Ortman took first place in an impromptu Rock Paper Scissors (RPS) Tournament held at the Knight Club Billiards & Arcade on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. Ortman took home $15.00 for winning the double elimination event.

Fourteen players participated in the free tournament. First, second and third places received prizes. Losing to Ortman in the finals was Nathan Wuest who defeated Clifford Kapustka in the semi-final match.

Brittany Pertile placed 4th in the tournament. Devon Frank and Rober Maher tied for 5th place; Zack Rantenen and Kimberly Tibaldo tied for 6th; 7th place was shared by Katie Pertile, Jory Vernetti, Tyler Singleton, and Lacey Vetter. Out in two matches, placing 8th in the tournament, were Jacob Pertile, and Mat Ratkowski.

RPS Tournaments are regularly held at the Knight Club, but are never announced. There is no cost to participate, but prizes are awarded. Ortman reluctantly participated in the tournament. She was visiting the Knight Club to seek advice from Steve Frank on her college schedule. She is enrolled as a student at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. Frank, in addition to managing the pool room, is a tutor at Gogebic Community College.
