Double Homicide In Bessemer Township Being Investigated

BESSEMER TOWNSHIP, MI - Saturday, July 3, 2010 - State Police and the Gogebic County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a residence on Belmont Avenue in Bessemer Township at 8:30 AM CST this morning. Upon arrival, officers found two men dead.

Officials say at this time, they don't believe it to be a random crime. The State Police Crime Lab and Detectives Task Force are also assisting with the case. The suspect of the reported double homicide is still at large.

UPDATE: The Superior Chronicle received the following message at 3:36 PM.

Alert Message has been issued by the Ironwood Public Safety Department.

The name of a suspect in the double homicide case in Bessemer has been released.

Police are looking for 54-year-old Steven Joseph Dianich.

He is a white male 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds with light brown hair.

Dianich is considered armed and dangerous . He was last seen in the city of Ramsey, Michigan.

Police have released a photo of 54-year-old Steven Joseph Dianich. (See Above)

He is a suspect in Saturday morning's double homicide in Bessemer Township.

If anyone has any information on Dianich, they are asked to contact the Michigan State Police at the Wakefield Post.

RAMSAY, MI - Monday, July 5, 2010 — According to the Duluth News Tribune, in Duluth, Minnesota, "Authorities in the western Upper Peninsula are looking for an armed man they suspect of shooting two men to death because he was jealous they'd been drinking with his girlfriend."

The articles states that the victims, "46-year-old Scott Udd and 52-year-old Jon Lund were drinking and partying at Udd's home early Saturday in Ramsay, near Bessemer and about 10 miles east of Ironwood."
