Nick Erickson Receives the Miners Memorial Scholarship

IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, July 1, 2010 - Tom Bergman, President of the Friends of the Miners Memorial Heritage Park (above left), presents Ironwood's Nick Erickson (above right) with the $500 Miners Memorial Scholarship. Erickson's grandfathers were miners in the Gogebic Range, working in the Eureka and Peterson mines between 1945-1963. Erickson is a 2010 graduate of L.L. Wright High School and will be attending Mesabi College in northern Minnesota this fall.
