Gogebic County Inmate Fails to Return from Day Parole

BESSEMER, MI - Sunday, June 6, 2010 - The Gogebic County Sheriff's Department is looking for an inmate who failed to return from day parole on Friday, June 4, 2010. He was supposed to return by 8:30 PM.

John Alfred Mapstone is a white male weighing approximately 190 pounds. He's five feet nine inches tall with red/brown hair and blue eyes. On Friday, he turned 32 years old (DOB 06/04/78). He was last wearing white shorts and a white t-short and carrying a bag with blue jeans and a blue button up shirt with paint on it. Mapstone was last seen in Ironwood Township at approximately 5:00 PM.

Mapstone was currently serving a sentence for assault charges.
