Klassic Kruisers Invite All Area Vintage Vehicles to Join Them

For the Area 4th of July Pre-Parade Cruises

BESSEMER/WAKEFIELD, MI - Monday, June 28, 2010 - The Klassic Kruisers Car Club has participated in the pre-parade cruises at the Bessemer and Wakefield 4th of July parades since the inception of the cruises. But the club wants to stress - THESE CRUISES ARE NOT JUST FOR KRUISER MEMBERS, THEY ARE OPEN TO ALL AREA CLASSIC VEHICLES. Many of the cars shown here will participate in these cruises.

In Wakefield, participating vehicles need to be in the high school parking lot no later than 12:30 PM on the 4th of July. In Bessemer, cruise line-up is on Galena Street, between Moore Street and Mine Street, starting at 5:00 PM. No pre-registration is required for either cruise - just bring your car and get in line! The cruise is done prior to the actual parades in consideration of the fact that most older vehicles tend to overheat if they travel too slowly or have to stop and start, especially going up the hill on Moore Street and even the main street of Wakefield!

The Klassic Kruisers own vehicles ranging from a 1929 Model A to late model Corvettes. Club President Tom Ravelli and his wife Sharon (club treasurer) own two of these vehicles - a 1931 Ford Model A and a 1954 Chevrolet 210 named "Claire." Club secretary Linda Gustafson and her husband Curt own a 1966 Pontiac Star Chief Executive 4-door hardtop, which is as long as it's name! Vice-president Gene Clemens and his wife Gail have several vehicles, including a 1965 Chevy Impala Super Sport, a 1932 Ford Model A, and a 1953 Chrysler New Yorker, which has been restored to look like the old yellow checkered cabs. They also own a 1945 Dodge fire truck. Other club vehicles that usually make the 4th of July cruises are Dennis and Susan Beals' 1990 Baron replica of a 1936 Mercedes Roadster Convertible, Chris and Sonia Bergquist's 1962 Buick Invecta, George Bergquit's 1968 Chevelle SS convertible, Rich and Fran Holm's 1958 Edsel, Dick and Barb Kolesar's 1978 Corvette, Del and Mary Kay Penton's 1953 Ford Mainline, Jerry and Carol Pisani's 1929 Model A and later model red Corvette, Dan and Gayle Rowe's 1964 Thunderbird, Bill and Sue Sikonia's 1952 MGTD Replicar, and Brian and Bev Tousignant's 1968 Plymouth GTX and 1972 Plymouth Barracuda.

So if you want to take a trip down memory lane or just want to look at some really nice classic cars and trucks, get to downtown Wakefield and Bessemer early for the big 4th of July parades and "Take a Trip Down Memory Lane" - see dozens of classic vehicles on the street!!
