Nostalgic Evening at Ironwood’s Historic Theatre
IRONWOOD, MI - by Keri Singleton - Saturday, June 26, 2010 - The music of American songwriters Jerome Kern and Irving Berlin came alive Friday night, June 25, 2010, at 7:30 PM in Ironwood, Michigan, at the Historic Ironwood Theatre. The Pine Mountain Music Festival, which has been in operation each summer for 20 years, graced Ironwood with their performance; Jerome Kern and Irving Berlin in Revue. The songs performed included Ol’ Man River, The Way You Look Tonight, God Bless America, Always, and a tune by Berlin called, I Want to go Back to Michigan. The festival spans a 5-week period in June and July, covering Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The energy, talent, and perfect delivery given by the artists electrified the air and lent such a romantic air to the stage, it was easy to be transformed to a time that while simpler in many ways; resemble our current times. Thank You to All Involved in This Revue: Music Director and Accompanist Stage Manager ROA Program Director Resident Opera Artists: Sponsor: The Phyllis and Max Reynolds Foundation.
