Ironwood Premiere of "10th Gear JettRide: 3800 Miles to a Cure"
IRONWOOD, MI - Sunday, March 7, 2010 - On Monday, March 22, the 10th Gear JettRide: 3800 Miles to a Cure documentary will be shown at the Olde Suffolk Ale House, 125 South Suffolk Street, Downtown Ironwood. It will be the Upper Peninsula Premiere of this award winning documentary of the 2007 JettRide. Come early for food and drinks at 6:00 PM, with the film being shown at 7:00 PM. This film recently won the 2009 Hollywood East Film Festival Best Feature Documentary Award. The documentary is about a journey of a lifetime for 24 teens age 13-18. A bicycle ride from Seaside, OR to Plymouth, MA, 3800 miles in 66 days in the summer of 2007. These teens rode to explore our beautiful country, to push themselves to their physical limits, and to help save a life… the life of Jett McSherry. The young riders in this film were riding to raise awareness and funds to support research for Duchene Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Jett McSherry has this fatal disease. This summer the 2010 edition of The JettRide http://www.jettride.org will begin June 24th in San Francisco and end in Point Pleasant, NJ on August 27th. Local residents Rich Scott & Michelle Mathieu have been invited to help as adult tour leaders. They will be riding the last two weeks of the ride from Cincinnati to Point Pleasant.
