Announcing the Gogebic Range Relay and Kickoff

IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, March 2, 2010 - Now is the time to mark your calendars for this year’s Relay for Life, which will be held June 11 and 12, 2010. For the fifth year in a row, Relay will be held at Gogebic Community College. This year the theme will be ‘Cancer Takes a Holiday’. Teams will get creative focusing their fundraising and campsite themes around the various year-round holidays.

Gogebic and Iron County residents will kick-off the 14th annual American Cancer Society’s Relay for life this Thursday, March 4th at 6:30 PM at Tacconelli’s in downtown Ironwood.

Please join us if you are interested in joining a team, becoming a team captain, fundraising or receiving more information on how to get involved in this year’s event. A cancer survivor will be our featured guest speaker during the short program, refreshments will be served and prizes will be given away.

The Relay Committee will also be holding the first team captain’s meeting on Monday, March 29 at 6:30 PM at the Comfort Inn in Ironwood, for those returning from previous years and those interested in starting a new team.

For more information on the kick-off or on sponsoring a team, please contact Chairperson Todd Haegar at (906) 360-6377.
