Nice to Meet Some Classic Cruisin’ Canadians

IRONWOOD, MI - by Keri Singleton - Friday, May 21, 2010 - While at Mary’s Northwoods Cabin, located at 210 South Suffolk Street, located downtown Ironwood, Michigan, I met three charming Canadian couples who were enjoying a break in Ironwood, during their projected 8-week trip across America in their classic cars. Their journey began this past Sunday, May 16, 2010, in Blind Bay, British Columbia. The group was in Mary’s Northwoods Cabin, and found a classic car replica, that was sure to be one of the treasures of their trip.

The group consisted of: John and Stephanie Higgins, in their 1955 Mercury Pickup, Bonner Neeve and Doreen Poole, riding in their 1966 Mustang Convertible, and Winston and Joyce Mason, in their 1949 Ford. The vehicles were all self-restored, and they are all long-time friends. The group will head to Dearborn, Michigan, before returning to Canada to do the Maritime tour, (Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, then Prince Edward Island), before returning to the states to continue their trip across America.

The only story I have here is what a joy it was to spend some time with these fun-loving, friendly Canadians, and wish them well on their trip. It was fun to explain what a “Yooper” is to people who sounded very much like me, by way of accent, eh? Enjoy your journey, our friends to the North, and thank you for taking the time to pose with your beautiful cars, as well as inside Mary’s Northwoods Cabin. Enjoy the pictures, folks, and have a wonderful day---yes, they really were as friendly as they look! Thanks to Mary at Northwoods Cabin, for always having something for everyone.
