Polar Bear Golf Fundraiser Huge Success

IRONWOOD, MI - Friday, May 28, 2010 - Great Turnout for Polar Bear Golf Fundraiser Twenty-six teams competed in this year’s Polar Bear Hockey fundraising golf tournament that was held at the Gogebic Country Club on May 22nd. Event organizer Ray Brunelle stated, “We had a great turnout this year and raised over $6000 for the local Polar Bear Hockey organization. I can’t thank our sponsors and participants enough.” Highlights of the raffle tables were an autographed photo donated by the Detroit Red Wings and a driver autographed by Steve Stricker.
The foursome of Bill Joki, Jeremy Joki, Cory Wicklund and Paul Linn took first place in the men’s division; while Mae Shafer, Dena Lundin, Nancy Levra and Kris Croci brought home the women’s title. Winners in the mixed division were Blaine and Amanda Sprague and Guy and Michelle Trier. Upcoming fundraisers include a rummage sale at the Pat O’Donnell Civic Center June 5th, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and a pig roast July 24th at Rigoni’s Bar.
