City Commission to Meet on Monday

Property Purchase On Commission Agenda

IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, November 18, 2010 - On Monday, November 22, 2010 at 5:30 PM, the Ironwood City Commission will hold a regular meeting in the Commission Chambers on the second floor of the Memorial Building, Downtown Ironwood.  One of the issues to be discussed at Monday night's meeting will be to consider scheduling a Public Hearing for Monday, December 13, 2010 for 5:20 P.M. to hear comment on the abatement of blighted property at 240 East Michigan Avenue (see photo above).

Other topics to be covered at the meeting include: (1) Updates from Financial Director Julie Frederickson; (2) Department Supervisor Updates from Dennis Hewitt and Bob Erspamer; (3) the ORV speed limit on Trail #2; (4) Security System upgrades for the Memorial Building and the Carnegie Library; (5) Placing $300,000 of  the General Fund in reserve for street improvements; (6) Purchase of a 3/4 ton pickup for the pump station; (7) the possible purchase of the old "Sharon's Place" lot in Downtown Ironwood; (8) appointing Merritt Bussiere as the Planning Director/Zoning Administrator for the City of Ironwood; (9) consider authorization of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for consulting engineering services for the Hemlock Street Phase I (Norrie Street to Arch ) design and inspection; (10) consider authorizing advertisement for bids for Diesel and Unleaded fuel for the Department of Public Works Fleet; (11) Mayor's appointments; and (12) Manager's report.
