Sturgul and Lucius Elected to State Bar Posts

HURLEY, WI - Friday, November 12, 2010 - Attorneys Paul A. Sturgul and William D. Lucius have each been elected to a Michigan State Bar Post at the annual meeting of the Michigan State Bar Elder Law & Disability Rights Section. The Elder Law & Disability Rights Section=s annual meeting was held in conjunction with its Annual Fall Conference at Crystal Mountain Resort near Traverse City on October 6-8, 2010.

Attorney Paul A. Sturgul has been elected Chairman of the Michigan State Bar Elder Law & Disability Rights Section. Attorney William D. Lucius has been elected to the Governing Council of this Section. Sturgul and Lucius both focus their practice in Elder Law.

Sturgul has served on the Michigan State Bar Elder Law & Disability Rights Council since 2002. He is past Chairman of the Wisconsin State Bar Elder Law Section and serves as an Advisor to the Section. Sturgul is the former President of the National Elder Law Foundation, which is the only entity accredited by the American Bar Association to certify lawyers in Elder Law. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and of the Wisconsin Law Foundation.

Lucius is a Member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and sits on several steering committees within the Academy. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, and is an accredited Attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Lucius is actively involved in the local community and is on the Ironwood City Commission.
