One Car Roll Over Claims Life of Wisconsin Man

WAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI - Friday, October 29, 2010 - The Gogebic County Sheriff's Department along with the Michigan State Police are investigating a one car roll over accident that occurred on HWY M28 in Wakefield Township, near the Ontonagon County line. The roll over accident claimed the life of a fifty year old Wisconsin man.

Deputies from the Gogebic County Sheriff's Department, Michigan State Troopers, and Beacon Ambulance all responded to a call of a one car accident on Friday, October 29th at approximately 1:45 a.m. Initial information was that the driver was ejected from the vehicle and unresponsive. The female passenger was not ejected and was able to climb out of the vehicle and dial 911.

Beacon Ambulance transported the female passenger to Aspirus Grand View Hospital to be treated.

Initial reports indicate that alcohol and speed were contributing factors.

Victims name is being withheld pending notification of family.
