Ironwood Carnegie Library Announces Upcoming Events

IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, October 21, 2010 - The Ironwood Carnegie Library today announced several upcoming events that will not only benefit the Library, but will also be a benefit to the entire community.  The events are:

Saturday, November 6th at 7pm
Tacconelli’s Down Towne in Ironwood
Poetry Reading by Author Pat O’Neill

Enjoy published and new poems while Pat reveals his inspirations, feelings, and thoughts. Hors d’oevres, desserts, and soft drinks will be served. Cash bar. Tickets are $8.00 and available at the Ironwood Carnegie Library, Tacconnelli’s, Nora’s Bar and Red Carpet Lounge, and Northwind Natural Foods Co-op. All proceeds go to the Ironwood Carnegie Library annual fund.

Wednesday, November 10th from 6pm to 8pm

Spark Your Appetite: A Community Supper for Adults Who Care About Our Youth

An exciting and enjoyable evening for parents, grandparents, teachers, public officials, and anyone interested in our kids. Great Lakes Center for Youth Development Director Judy Watson Olson will give a delightful presentation to help us help our kids discover those things that interest and excite them and ultimately help them achieve more in school and in life. A potluck supper will take place at 6pm; program at 6:30pm. Call Lynne or Elaine at the Ironwood Carnegie Library @ 932-0203 for more information. Sponsored by the Gogebic County Youth Learning Network, Gogebic Ontonagon Intermediate School District , and the Great Lakes Center for Youth Development. There is no charge for this event.

Saturday, November 13th from 9am
Christmas Tour of Homes
Ironwood, Michigan

Visit beautifully decorated homes where you can shop for Christmas from merchandise displayed by local merchants at each home. Enjoy entertainment my local singers and musicians, sample cookies and refreshments, and get into the holiday spirit! Tickets are $10.00 for the tour and available at the library. Proceeds from tickets sales will go toward the library’s Capital fund for renovation.
