Benefit for Merrie Giannunzio Planned for Sunday at Last Tangle Salon

IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, October 19, 2010 - The will be a benefit for Merrie Giannunzio on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Last Tangle Salon, on Douglas Boulevard in Downtown Ironwood.

Merrie has a rare form of throat and tounge cancer. She has had surgery to remove the tumor, and as a result has had to have a tracheotomy and also a feeding tube. She had had the trach taken out, but still needs the feeding tube. She will start weeks of radiation treatments now.

Merrie has been a hair stylist for over 40 years and was the past owner of the County Clipper Salon. She has been an important part of our community.

Stylists from the area will come together and offer $10 hair cuts, or have your nails painted. We will be selling hamburgers, brats, and hot dogs and there will be drawings for gifts and a 50/50 raffle.
