Area Mountain Biker Finds Real Adventure Here

GOGEBIC-IRON RANGE - by Joshua Kodis - Saturday, September 25, 2010 - Some will say that this area has nothing to offer. Kids are bored with nothing to do. No potential or talent. Some say this area will fade away into nothing. Those who say this are wrong.

There are a few who refuse to do nothing, refuse to sit around and watch TV every night. These few refuse to give up on their home, refuse to be bored and refuse to accept the image of a no-fun-small-town life. Those creative enough will find excitement in the world around them, and see potential in places others will overlook.

The truth is that there is much to do in our home towns, no matter how small, there are bigger adventures out there. Bigger potential to tap into for those willing to dream big enough.

Ironwood resident Brian Pisani is one of our local youths who has found passion in a place where others have overlooked. He is one of a handful of people in the area who have decided to clear trails through woods and spend countless hours devoted to the cause of making life a little more fun and interesting and clearing the way for others to explore new possibilities right in their backyard. Mountain biking is his passion and he is determined to inspire others to see the potential that Gogebic County could offer the sport.

The woods isn’t the only place Pisani takes his bike. A small hill near down town Hurley provides the lift needed to get a little closer to the sky.
