Another Good Performance by GCC Cross-Country Running Team

DULUTH, MN - Sunday, September 12, 2010 - The Gogebic Community College cross-country running team put in another good performance on Saturday at the University of Minnesota-Duluth Campus Quest Collegiate Meet on Saturday. Gogebic's Kari Strand finished 33rd in the women's 5 kilometer race with a time of 21:54. In the men's 8 kilometer race, Dominic Beckman placed 49th in 31:33, Ryan Goings placed 52nd in 31:48, Lucas Scherer placed 55th in 32:09, Kyle Weber placed 62nd in 32:59 and Mike Gering placed 86th in 37:25.

"Everyone ran well", said Coach Will Andresen. "I was especially impressed with our new freshmen who moved up to 8K for the first time - they all ran smart, gutsy races."

Gogebic travels to Whitewater on Saturday to compete in the Warhawk Invitational.
