GCC to Host Public TV Anchor and Producer

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI - Sunday, September 19, 2010 - Tim Skubick, noted anchor and producer of the Public TV series “Off the Record” will hold a town hall event at Gogebic Community College on Tuesday, September 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lindquist Student Center Courtside Room. “Off the Record” can be seen on Michigan public television stations and has an audience of 100,000 viewers each week.

Skubick is the longest serving member of the state capitol press corps and covers the state capitol for a variety of other media outlets including 66 radio stations through the Michigan Radio Network. He writes a weekly political column for 22 statewide newspapers and is in high demand on the public speaking circuit around the state.

His work has earned him four Emmy awards and spots in both the Broadcast and Journalism Halls of Fame.

Skubick has done more political broadcasts than any other journalist, print or broadcast, in the state and has been covering Michigan government and politics since 1969. He holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Broadcast Journalism from Michigan State University.

Tuesday’s event at Gogebic Community College is free to the public.
