February Updates of the Friends of the Miners Memorial Heritage Park
IRONWOOD, MI - Sunday, February 20, 2011 - The snow may be melting this week, but winter is not quite over! I hope you get a chance to ski and/or snowshoe in Miners Memorial Heritage Park in the coming weeks. Although the conditions may be a bit slushy currently, the City Ski Loop has been groomed regularly during the last few weeks. Signs are posted along the 2 km and 4 km routes, and brochures with maps are available at area businesses. If you snowshoe, make sure to walk along the groomed ski trail. Guided Snowshoe Hikes We are also having guided snowshoe hikes in the Park on Sundays at 2:00 pm. Meet at the School Bus Garage on Ayer Street. February Meeting Everyone is welcome to our monthly meeting which is next Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Gogebic Community College's Solin Center in Room B22 (or a nearby room). Like always, we have plenty to discuss such as future activities in the park, the long-term trail plan, and ways to find funding.
