Polar Bear Squirts Win Weekend Series

IRONWOOD, MI - Monday, February 28, 2011 - On Saturday, the Polar Bear Squirts defeated Negaunee 12-0, and 11-0, and Sunday they defeated Iron River 7-1, and 6-1 to go undefeated in CUP league play.

The weekend's goals were scored by Tyler Morrison (10), Caleb Baxter (7), Nathan Garnell (6), Ethan Roehm (5), Brett Heil (3), Hanna Koivisto (2), Tommy Lundin and Synee Lorenson each with 1 goal. Assists were tallied by Morrison, Lorenson, and Koivisto each with 5 assists, Garnell and Heil each with 4, Roehm, Baxter, Lundin and CJ Sorensen each with 2 assists, David Collins also had 1 assist. Matthew Clemens was in net for all 4 wins and had 2 shutouts.

"The players have worked as hard as any group I have ever coached, they deserve all the praise for their efforts," said coach Scott Kellett.
