SISU Ski Fest Releases Updated Road Closure List

IRONWOOD, MI - Wednesday, January 5, 2011 - SISU Ski Fest organizing committee announces its road closures and alternate routes for the weekend of January 14 – 15th.  Signage will be located at each road closure with directions on how to get through the detour.  Thank you for your patience in these temporary inconveniences.  The community is invited to come downtown Saturday and cheer on racers between 10:30 am and 4:00 pm as they cross the “Finnish” line, which will be near the Ben Franklin store.  Also don’t forget to Shop SISU Saturday for a chance to win up to $500 for your purchases, visit downtown shops for details on how you can win.  Visit our website to view additional maps of race course and road closures at www.sisuskifest.com.  Volunteer opportunities are still open, contact us through our website to see how you can get involved.

2011 Sisu Ski Fest Road Closures

 

The affected downtown streets listed below will be closed between 5:00 PM Friday and 5:00 PM Saturday.  All other roads listed below will be closed between 3:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Saturday.

 

Downtown Road closures (traffic to use alternate routes)

 

1. The entire Lowell/Aurora intersection

2. Mcleod (portion of block between Fabric Patch and Lawrence only)

3. Aurora (entire block between Lowell and Suffolk only)

 

Norrie Area Road closures (traffic to use alternate routes)

 

1. Beech (one block between Burma and Houk only)

2. Alfred Wright (one block between Suffolk and Pine only)

3. Burma (two blocks between Houk and Mansfield)

4. Norrie Park Rd. (at Park only)

 

Aurora Neighborhood Road closures (traffic to use alternate routes, local traffic only)

 

1. Penokee (one block between Granite and Clemens)

2. Brogan (one block between Harris and Granite)

3. South Range (between Norrie Park Road and East Pine St.)

4. Frenchtown (between East Pine St. And Lake)

 

NOTE:

** For Norrie & Aurora neighborhoods please use Oak St to Bulinski to get in and out of town.

** Newport neighborhood, use Bonnie to Ayer St to get into town.  Brogan & Penokee will be tied up.

** Erwin township residents please use VanBuskirk to get into town.
