Calumet Theatre to Hold Annual GALA Fundraiser April 2nd

CALUMET, MI - Monday, March 14, 2011 - Let's shake, rattle and roll! Happy Days - a 1950s Sock Hop will be the theme of the Calumet Theatre's annual fundraising gala to be held on Saturday, April 2 in historic Calumet, Michigan.

Guests are encouraged to dress in '50s style attire with prizes awarded for the swingingest chick and the coolest cat. Ladies, that means poodle skirts, bobbie socks, you know, that LaVerne & Shirley look. Guys, get out those white t-shirts, black leather jackets, grease back that hair and dance to '50s DJ music by Jams by John.

The evening starts at 6:00 pm with a social hour in the Red Jacket Ballroom on the 2nd floor of the Theatre, located at 340 Sixth Street. Dinner provided by the Miscowaubik Club will follow at 7:00 pm with the sock hop beginning at 8:30 pm. The evening includes a silent auction with items ranging from deluxe overnight motel accommodations to oil changes for that favorite vehicle!

This open to the public, over 21, event features hors d'oeuvres, dinner, beverages, music, and door prizes – we may even throw in some '50s trivia! Guests are also encouraged to bring a brand new pair of socks that will be donated to a local charity. Tickets to the Happy Days Sock Hop are $55 per person or $100 for 2.
