Gogebic Community College Foundation Hosts 'Taste of Gogebic Range'
IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI - Friday, March 18, 2011 - The Gogebic Community College Foundation is hosting the second annual 'Taste of the Gogebic Range' on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the David G. Lindquist Student Center. This event will feature samplings and offerings of food and beverages from area restaurants, businesses and caterers. "We had such a successful event last year that we are very excited about hosting this again," said Charlene Newhouse, Gogebic Community College Foundation President and Special Events Committee member, "We will be welcoming back many of our local restaurants and caterers with enticing samples, as well as a few new participants." In addition to the delicious samples being offered, the Foundation will offer coffee, tea, and punch. Beer and wine from the local Michigan region will be available for purchase to complement the food. There will be two contests going on during the event. The 'Tasters' Choice Award' will be voted on by the attendees, and the 'Best of Show Award' will be decided by special judges. Booths will be judged on overall display, presentation of food samples, and taste. Trophies will be awarded at the end of the event that night. Tickets are limited and are by advance purchase only, at a cost of $20 per person. There will be no ticket sales at the door. All proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the Foundation. The Gogebic Community College Foundation was established in 1977 as a non-profit corporation and exists solely for the support and development of the College and its mission.
